Treats for your little werewolf or your spooky black cat:
10 oz canned salmon or tuna (undrained)
1 egg (beaten)
10 blueberries (fresh)
2 cups whole wheat flour
Instructions:
Heat oven to 350°F. With a hand mixer, blend salmon (undrained), egg (beaten), blueberries, and whole wheat flour until dough forms. If the dough is too dry, gradually add more water. If the dough is too wet or sticky, gradually add a bit more flour. Dough should be slightly tacky but not sticky.
Roll dough out on a floured surface to approximately ¼” thick. Use a small ¾” cookie cutter or cut into spooky-shaped treats. Place treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until treats are slightly browned.
Carve Jack O’Lanterns and share the gold. Many people love roasting the pumpkin seeds for a treat on Halloween, so make sure to include your pet in this indulgence. Just scoop out a bit of extra pumpkin meat, give it a quick roast, then cool it and feed it to your furry friend. They are sure to love it. Pumpkin also provides the bonus of helping to balance the digestive tract!
Have a party. Many areas have local Halloween-themed pet parties. See if there is one in your area. Your cat or dog will be happy to see their friends and may even make a new friend.
