Helping Kitty Kimba with stress and howlingInspiring Pet Tails 3 min read
Our kitty cats are funny creatures, often doing things we don’t quite understand, from swatting all of our stuff off the counter, to hiding in small spaces and spying on us.
While we usually laugh, sometimes our pet pawrent instincts kick in, and we know their strange behavior means something is wrong.
These furry complex creatures, can be easily upset or stressed, even from the simplest changes in their routine. Some common causes can be a change in litter or food, loud noises, a change in environment, a new fur kid and even a lack of safe hiding spaces.
It is important to resolve the stress in our kitties as best we can, as it can eventually lead to physical health problems. Stress hormones released in our furry friends bodies, lead to inflammation of the bladder and can cause further complications, so it’s important to act fast.
Kitty Kimba’s mom Alley reached out to us in March with a few concerns, one of these was his increasing howls, and losing fur on his stomach, legs and tummy. After a bit of discussion we thought little Kimba might be feeling stressed and we recommended Matricalm to help.
Kimba was also showing higher than normal liver enzymes so we wanted to make sure to stay on top of this as well and added Milk Thistle into the mix.
Shortly after, we began receiving the most wonderful updates about Kimba!
“Kimba stopped howling loudly after taking matricalm & milk thistle😃”
She went on to tell us that not only has the howling stopped but his fur is better and he is even sleeping better at night.

Kimba isn’t the only kitty of Alley’s that NHV is helping holistically. Sasha, a 17 year old kitty has been suffering from kidney failure, but has been doing very well managing with NHV Tripsy.
“My 17yo cat is taking tripsy for kidney failure, it helps, she has good appetite & is very active”
Here are all of the supplements which have helped Kimba’s stress and hormone levels, as well as help manage Sasha’s Kidney failure
Our vet Dr. Amanda says, “If your pet is sick and is showing signs of stress, besides treatment and support specifically for the illness, it is pertinent that you also manage stress levels. Stress or anxiety can make treatment more difficult and can even undo the positive effects that your other efforts are bringing. It can also alter the results of blood work and lead to improper diagnosis.”
Stress management is important for pets. Natural blends like NHV Matricalm and Lesstress are safe to use for long term and vet formulated to suit your pets. Please ask NHV Pet Experts to help you find a suitable regimen for your stressed out pet.
