Pumpkin is not only festive, but it also has health benefits!

Pumpkin is not only festive, but it also has health benefits! Pumpkin is good for digestive health, is a great source of fiber, beta-carotene, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, and vitamins A and C. Pumpkin is also a flavor that many pets enjoy. That’s why pumpkin is such an essential part of this recipe.

Pumpkin isn’t every cat’s favorite flavor, but we have a special ingredient in this recipe to help entice any feline friend. Catnip! Catnip is optional but it can also be included for our canine companions. For some dogs, catnip can help with anxiety, improve sleep, and act as a natural antiseptic.

Carrots pair nicely with pumpkin in this recipe not only for the color but also for the benefits. Carrots are low in calories, an excellent source of Vitamin A and fiber which helps the digestion of your pet.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of salmon or mackerel (200g)
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 3 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp dried catnip (optional)

  • Your favorite NHV supplement like NHV Natures Immuno

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Add fish to a bowl and break it up into shreds or smaller pieces. Once broken up, add grated carrot, egg, and pumpkin puree to a large bowl. Mix well.

3. Add catnip to the bowl and mix until evenly distributed.

4. Gradually add flour to the bowl while mixing. Add flour and mix until it forms a dough.

5. Place the bowl with the dough in the fridge and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
