Celebrating Valentine’s with A Pawpose #PawsitiveAid

NHV Gives Back 3 min read

In the wake of the LA fires, many of us feel powerless, unsure of how to make a difference. At NHV, we know we’re feeling the same. But we believe that even small gestures can send a ripple of support where it’s needed most.

This year, we’re fighting for animals with #PawsitiveAid

That’s why this Valentine’s Day, we’re doing things a bit differently; this year, we’re fighting for animals with #PawsitiveAid! By sharing a simple selfie with your furry friend and using this hashtag, you’re sending a powerful message of hope, reminding pets and animal shelter workers in California that we see and care about them.

Best of all, we’re donating a dollar to LA animal shelters for every Facebook and Instagram post that uses this hashtag from January 28 to February 18th.

How To Spread the Love through #PawsitiveAid

A dog and person taking a selfie.

Helping pets and animals affected by the California wildfires is as easy as taking a selfie. Here’s how to turn your selfie into a donation, completely for free:

  1. Take a selfie with your fur kiddo. Any type of pic will do, but we’d encourage you to get creative with it! Camera shy? A picture of just your pet by themselves is perfect too.

  2. Upload your photo or photos to Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #PawsitiveAid. Make sure you tag @NHVNaturalPet and that your post is public.

  3. We turn your selfie into a 1 dollar donation for pets in need at no cost to you.

Each eligible selfie shared will be counted. That means that if you post two selfies, two dollars will be donated. Three selfies? Yep, you’re helping to donate three dollars. There’s no limit, so don’t be afraid to show off!

The Need

Like many of you, our hearts are hurting for the families and pets affected by the Californian wildfires.

The chaos of evacuation poses many challenges for Californian families, especially those with pets. Our little furry friends can get separated from their owners during evacuations, and shelters have become overwhelmed trying to reunite them with their families.

Additionally, pet shelters’ new and temporary furry friends have special needs. The trauma from the fires – and of being separated from their families – often means that shelter pets need a lot of physical and emotional support.

With many shelters at capacity and running low on essentials like food, bedding, and other supplies, it’s time for the pet-loving community to turn our love of pets into action and help out! Together, we can remind them that they’re in our thoughts and hearts.
