We believe in the power of natural remedies. We hear and see all the time how our products make a difference for pets, and nothing makes us happier than seeing them find success. But responsibly crafting natural remedies requires careful consideration each step of the way.

Many plants used in herbalism have very particular needs or grow very slowly. When their natural environments are lost to human activity, it can contribute to the loss of the species.

Eventually, the plant will not be available for future generations to enjoy and heal from. That’s why we choose to be a part of the solution by responsibly sourcing every ingredient and approaching our business sustainably.

Organic and Wildcrafted? Yes Please!

We source our raw herbs only from trusted suppliers that follow sustainable and ethical practices. This is either through organic farming or responsible wildcraft harvesting.

The rest of our materials are organically grown. Pesticides are associated with all sorts of adverse health outcomes and affect the bug and animal population where they are used. Since the pets using our supplements often already have health conditions, we’re committed to making sure that they only ingest good stuff – not harmful pesticides.

We believe that the term organic should have meaning, and that you should be able to buy organic pet products without hesitation. Our manufacturing facility has been certified by multiple 3rd parties and governments for your peace of mind.

• BC Certified Organic: BC Certified Organic is a governmental agency that regulates the term organic, which is a protected label within the province. Our supplements are crafted in this beautiful Canadian province, which is known for its stunning nature and precious biodiversity. BC Certified Organic supports sustainability by promoting organic farming practices, which typically involve reducing the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizer, encouraging better soil health, and improving biodiversity.
• Ecocert: Ecocert is an international certification organization for sustainable development, ensuring products meet organic and environmental standards. Products with the Ecocert stamp of approval are certified to respect the environment and promote sustainable practices, including organic farming and environmentally friendly processes.
• USDA Certified Organic: This certification proves that we meet the organic standards set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
• Canada Organic: This certification is for Canadian products labeled as organic. This certification process involves detailed information on inputs, processes, and procedures is carried out to ensure compliance with the Canadian Organic standards.

Organic farming is incredibly important for our sustainability goals because it contributes to better environmental stewardship and sustainable development. Plus, the more organic farming there is, the less harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers cross over into nature – and our bodies.

Each Step Greener

Nature doesn’t hide any secrets. When we pollute or litter, it shows up. We’ve taken steps to reduce our carbon usage and ensure our packaging is recyclable to make sure nature stays clean.

We work with local suppliers in North America to minimize the time our supplies spend in transit. When they are coming from far away, we make sure that every shipment has been optimized to reduce emissions. We also work with our carrier partners to choose carbon neutral shipping service, because we all deserve fresh air – whether you’ve got a nose or a snout.

Waste is also top of mind when it comes to our packaging, and everything is recyclable.

For example, if you’ve ever gotten an NHV supplement before, it more than likely came in an amber glass bottle. The glass bottles not only help to protect delicate organic compounds from UV damage, but it is easily recyclable too.

We also do not use plastic shipping package material, packing peanuts or anything non-recyclable. We are even careful with the shipping box size so as not to create unnecessary waste.

Nothing Natural has to be Wasted

Our state-of-the-art GMP certified manufacturing facility uses processes which help optimize energy use and increase water conservation. When there are leftovers from creating herbal extractions, they are used to create a rich compost.

We also make pet food using rescued fruit and vegetables. What is rescued produce? It’s the slightly misshapen or off-color produce that is perfectly fine to eat but will be refused by supermarkets for fear it won’t sell. About a fifth of all food produced globally will eventually be wasted or lost, and rescued fruit and veg can help curb this waste.
