Super Easy Recipe: Peanut Butter Ice Cream For Dogs

For any pet pawrent looking for a dairy-free icy treat for your pooch, you will love this easy homemade dog ice cream recipe that will keep your pup hydrated and cool on those hot summer nights.

This recipe has been formulated by a vet to help disguise NHV supplements for all those picky eaters out there.

A dairy-free treat to keep your pooch cool and hydrated in the summer.

Peanut butter is rich in protein and fats so, in small quantities, it can be a yummy treat for your dog. Just use the natural kind that is suspended in oil and does not contain added salt or sugars (eg. xylitol which is toxic for dogs). Coconut milk can offer some health benefits such as helping to fight infections and to stimulate healthy immune function, however, pay special attention to only use unsweetened coconut milk. Pumpkin puree offers a rich source of digestible fiber to help loosen stool and keep things moving and bananas contain additional fiber plus a rich array of nutrients including potassium, copper and vitamin C.

While natural peanut butter and pumpkin puree can be wonderful natural treats for your dog in moderation, keep in mind that in higher quantities, the oils and added fiber can cause your pooch to have looser than normal stools. Both have been known to help with constipation so if your pup just ate these foods and their poops are softer than usual, that’s why!

Ingredients for Peanut Butter Dog Ice Cream

• 1 banana (peeled)

• 1/3 cup of pumpkin puree
