joint support
Discomfort Relief, Digestive Support, and Dog Appetite Booster
Having a pet with health issues is tough for any pet parent, but having two pets with multiple health issues is a big challenge for anyone to handle. Cathy’s furmily has gone through a lot of challenges, especially in the last year and they became an example of strength, perseverance, and unconditional love.
We are just so crazy about Czr, Via, and pet mom Cathy that we wanted to share their story with other pet parents that might be going through the same issues and need help. At the same time we’d like to give a shout-out to Cathy, their pet mom, that is handling this situation in the best way possible. This can be extremely tough not just emotionally, financially and it all can feel overwhelming but with strength, positivity, and tons of determination she’s doing a great job.
When we first met Via and Czr, we fell in love with them right away. They soon became part of our family when their furmama, Cathy came to us looking for medicinal mushrooms to help with cancer treatment. But it wasn’t that simple since Via and Czr had multiple health conditions and they would need lots of support and treatment to get better and we know how this can be tough, financially.
When she needed to save up for her kids’ care, Cathy juggled a new job and her own business while being fully committed to their diet, medication, and supplements. A dog mom’s journey is never easy, but she is such a warrior! All of Cathy’s hard work pays off because Czr and Via are gorgeously hanging in there and giving infinite cuddles to each other. They truly are an amazing family!
What Are Czr & Via’s Health Conditions?
CZR and Via have some health conditions that require extra care and attention.
- Czr: Besides being super sensitive to medications, Czr has melanoma, seizures, kidney failure, arthritis, and a heart murmur
- Via: She has mast cell tumors, many herniated discs, acute kidney failure, melanoma, and a heart murmur as well
The most commonly affected joints are the hips, elbows, lower back, knees, and wrists.
Arthritis. When the cartilage that protects the bones of the joint is damaged we have a condition called Osteoarthritis. The cartilage acts as a cushion and when the joint loses its cushions it causes friction between bones that leads to inflammation, decreased mobility, and discomfort. Infections and underlying diseases of the immune system can affect the cartilage and damage the joints as well. The most commonly affected joints are the hips, elbows, lower back, knees, and wrists.
Heart Murmur. A heart murmur is the result of a disturbance in the blood flow, which produces an audible noise: the “murmur.” Murmur is an abnormal extra sound in the heartbeat and it can be classified from grade 1 to grade 6. Lots of underlying conditions can cause turbulent blood flow, and the treatment will depend on the diagnosis.
Intervertebral Disc Herniation. The bones of the spinal column (vertebrae) are separated by discs. The discs act as cushions between those bones and they have two main functions: absorb impacts and protect the spinal cord. Intervertebral disc herniation happens when those discs become irritated, displaced, swollen, or ruptured and may damage the spinal cord. This condition is very dangerous because it causes extreme discomfort and can even lead to paralysis in some cases.
Kidney Failure. Kidneys have extremely important functions in the body like regulating blood pressure, maintaining a normal electrolyte balance, regulating hydration, and secreting hormones needed for the production of red blood cells. They filter the blood and get rid of toxins and waste which are then excreted in the urine. When kidneys are not working properly, all these functions are affected and the pet starts showing symptoms of intoxication like vomits and diarrhea as well as increased water consumption and urination, loss of appetite, lethargy, and pale gums.
Mast Cell Tumor. Mast cell tumor is cancer in a type of white blood cell (mast cell) found in many tissues of the body that is in charge of the response to allergens and inflammation. Mast cell tumors form nodules or masses in the skin but can also spread to other areas of the body. This condition can be diagnosed by suctioning a sample of the cells from the tumor followed by additional diagnostics to determine the extent of it in other areas of the body.
Melanoma. Melanocytes are the melanin-producing cells. Melanoma happens when there’s an abnormal production of those cells, which can produce a mass or another form of the lesion. They tend to grow extremely fast and are likely to spread to other organs like lymph nodes, liver, and lungs.
Czr & Via’s Natural Support
In order to support Czr and Via and keep them healthy and strong, our pet experts recommended a few natural supplements to help them get through this rough patch.
For Via, we recommended NHV Yucca that contains steroidal saponins that stimulate the body to produce its own natural corticosteroids helping with the discomfort.
She is also taking NHV Old Timer, which is a herbal formulation with anti-inflammatory and restorative actions that soothe uncomfortable joints and is great support for dogs with arthritis.
For Czr we suggested NHV Milk Thistle that helps remove any toxins built up in the system from taking pharmaceuticals while improving liver and kidney functions and supporting them if they are overworked.
For both their hearts, the Heart Murmur Support Kit is the best option. It comes with NHV Hearty-Heart that acts as a cardiovascular tonic and helps symptoms of heart conditions like coughing and difficulty breathing and NHV Turmeric which extract has anti-inflammatory and nutritive properties as well as a high concentration of antioxidants, essential for heart conditions.
Because they are both under treatment for cancer, we recommended a powerful duo for them:
NHV ES-Clear is our main supplement for cancer and helps purify the blood, detoxify vital organs and support the immune system, and NHV Natures Immuno has medicinal mushrooms that are beneficial as anti-cancer and anti-tumor support.
A balanced diet is essential for them, so we also recommended keeping them on a personalized home-cooked diet made by Dr. Amanda in order to provide better support for their conditions.
It takes a lot of work to care for furkiddos with health conditions like this but the love Cathy receives from Czr and Via makes it all worthwhile. We are so proud of this family and super happy with how Czr and Via have been doing on the supplements! They are the living proof that with lots of love, patience, and infinite cuddles it’s possible to give a better life to our fur kids. Sending lots of love to the whole family and we look forward to seeing you all get stronger and stronger!
You are amazing and we will always be here for you!
