As we start planning our Thanksgiving dinner, we can’t forget to make a meal for those we’re incredibly thankful to have in our lives each day – our pets! In this blog, we’re putting together a Thanksgiving recipe for pets that will be an entree and dessert that is suitable for both cats and dogs. Your furkiddo is sure to finish every last bite!

Thanksgiving Turkey Patties

The first recipe we will be making are turkey patties. If your pet is allergic to turkey, you can substitute the ground meat for chicken, beef or lamb depending on their preference.

DIY Recipe: Thanksgiving Turkey Patties For Cats & Dogs

Serves: 8-12 patties depending on size
Cooking Time: 30 minutes at 375°F

Ingredients:

• 1 lb of ground turkey

• 1/2 cup rolled oats

• 1 egg

• 1/4 cup sweet potato, grated

• 1/4 cup carrot, grated

• 1/4 cup bell pepper, grated

• 1/4 cup zucchini, grated

• 1/4 cup green beans, grated

• 1 tbsp parsley, minced

• 1 tsp ginger, freshly grated

• 2 tbsp olive oil

• 1/2 tsp salt

NHV Yucca or your favorite NHV supplement

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F

2. Put the ground turkey in a mixing bowl. Grate the veggies and add them in. Add the rest of the measured ingredients into the bowl and mix together by hand.

3. Take a handful of the mix and roll into a patty shape. Choose however large you want to make the patties, depending on the size of your pet. Place the patties onto a tray lined with parchment paper.

4. Lightly brush the patties with olive oil to make them nice and golden!

5. Bake for 30 minutes at 375°F until golden and then let them cool.

6. Add your pet’s required supplement dosage on top of the patty and serve.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Tarts

Now it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie and your furry friend shouldn’t miss out on a delicious dessert either! This pumpkin and banana dessert tart recipe will show your pet just how much you’re thankful for them this year.

DIY Recipe: Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Tarts For Cats & Dogs

Serves: 10 tarts
Cooking Time: 15 minutes at 350°F

Ingredients:

• 1 3/4 cup oat flour

• 1/4 cup apple sauce

• 1 banana

• 1 cup unsweetened pumpkin puree

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 1/2 tsp ginger, powdered

• 1 tbsp maple syrup

• 1 egg, whisked

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F

2. Add the oat flour and apple sauce into a bowl and mix together until it forms a dough. Add more oat flour if the consistency is still runny.

3. Take small portions of the dough and roll it flat before molding the sides to form a basket. Place the baskets in a muffin tin.

4. Bake the baskets for 5 minutes at 350°F and then let them cool.

5. While the baskets are baking in the oven, mix the remaining ingredients into a bowl to form the pumpkin pie mixture.

6. Once the baskets are out of the oven and have cooled, scoop a tablespoon of the pumpkin pie mixture into the baskets.

7. Bake the tarts for 10 minutes at 350°F and then let them cool once cooked.

8. Add your pet’s required supplement dosage on top of the tartlet and serve. Your pet will love the flavor of the pumpkin and it’s a great way to disguise the supplements into their food!
