NHV Natures Immuno Receives Health Canada Approval

Clinical Trials & Research 3 min read

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that our vet-formulated immune-support supplement, NHV Natures Immuno, has officially received Health Canada approval under the Veterinary Health Products (VHP) program!

Their recognition marks a proud milestone for the NHV team

Their recognition marks a proud milestone for the NHV team and for the pet owners who trust our supplements. It also represents an important step forward for natural veterinary health, underscoring our ongoing commitment to science-backed, transparent, and safe natural wellness solutions for pets everywhere.

Why Health Canada Approval Matters

Health Canada is the federal regulatory authority responsible for protecting human and animal health in Canada, serving a role similar to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). It evaluates and authorizes products for safety, efficacy, and quality before they reach the market.

Through the Veterinary Health Products, known as VHP program, Health Canada ensures that approved veterinary supplements are:

  • Manufactured in licensed or GMP-compliant facilities,
  • Formulated with approved ingredients supported by scientific data, and
  • Labeled accurately according to OECD, VICH, and GMP guidelines.

Importantly, Health Canada, the FDA, and the EMA collaborate closely under international trade and regulatory cooperation frameworks such as the U.S./Mexico/Canada Agreement (USMCA) and Canada/EU CETA. This alignment helps harmonize global safety and quality standards for veterinary products. That means pet supplements authorized in Canada, such as NHV Natures Immuno, meet internationally recognized benchmarks for safety, manufacturing, and scientific validation. Also, because the United States lacks a comparable federal framework, Canada’s VHP approval offers a higher level of consumer and veterinary confidence in product safety, quality, and scientific credibility.

In this way, every ingredient, dosage, and claim in NHV Natures Immuno has been carefully reviewed, providing veterinarians and pet parents with federal-level assurance of trust and transparency.

Scientifically Studied and Peer-Reviewed

The immune modulatory potential of NHV Natures Immuno has been scientifically evaluated at the University of Saskatchewan in collaboration with NHV’s R&D team.

The study, titled “Exploring the Immunomodulatory Potential of Natures Immuno”  was published as a peer-reviewed abstract in The Journal of Immunology (2024).

The research demonstrated that NHV Natures Immuno:

  • Balances inflammatory markers without overstimulating the immune system, and
  • Promotes antioxidant and immune resilience in companion animals.
  • Enhances expression of key regulatory cytokines (IL-10, IFN-γ). Cytokines are small proteins that help with the communication of the immune cells. For example, the cytokine IL-10 helps control inflammation and prevent tissue damage, while IFN-γ supports the body’s defense against infections and abnormal cell growth, playing a key role in anti-tumor and immune regulatory activity.

These findings were also presented at international veterinary science meetings, earning recognition for advancing the understanding of mushroom-based immunomodulators in veterinary health. This makes NHV Natures Immuno one of the few natural veterinary products with peer-reviewed, published scientific evidence supporting its efficacy.

NHV Natures Immuno – What’s Inside

Every 1 mL of NHV Natures Immuno contains a synergistic blend of five functional mushrooms, each with unique and complementary properties that promote immune balance and vitality:

Proper NameCommon NamePrimary Function
Coriolus versicolorTurkey Tail MushroomSupports immune modulation and gut microbiome balance
Cordyceps militarisCordycepsEnhances vitality, oxygen metabolism, and stress resistance
Agaricus blazeiHimematsutake MushroomPromotes cellular immune response and antioxidant defense
Ganoderma lucidumReishi MushroomHelps manage inflammation and supports liver and adrenal health
Lentinula edodesShiitake MushroomProvides beta-glucans that enhance immune and metabolic balance

Each of these mushrooms is rich in beta-glucans, which are natural compounds that help immune cells recognize and respond appropriately to challenges. Peer-reviewed research shows that these compounds promote balanced immune responses and improved resilience.

Behind the Scenes: The Journey to Approval

The path to Health Canada approval required years of investment in research, formulation, and regulatory review. NHV’s veterinary and scientific teams worked together to ensure that NHV Natures Immuno met every criterion for quality, consistency, and safety under the VHP program.

This milestone, paired with independent, peer-reviewed validation, underscores NHV’s dedication to scientific excellence, product integrity, and the well-being of pets worldwide.

A Proud Step Forward for Pet Wellness

The NHV mission has always been to unite natural wisdom with modern veterinary science.

The approval by Health Canada of NHV Natures Immuno, combined with University of Saskatchewan scientific research and peer-reviewed publication in The Journal of Immunology, stands as proof that natural veterinary products can meet the highest standards of scientific and regulatory excellence.

We’re proud to celebrate this achievement and deeply grateful to every pet parent, veterinarian, and scientist who helped make it possible.
