How Daisy, A 16-Year-Old Dog With A Sarcoma, Thrives

Inspiring Pet Tails 5 min read
Daisy May a 16-year-old dog with a sarcoma

Despite being a golden-aged morkie dog, Daisy enjoys her life to the fullest. She loves to cuddle with her family and to play with her favorite plushy toy. She recently had a big birthday pawty with sweet treats and a fun time. Happy woof-woof to her! Seeing how well she is doing now, it’s hard to believe that she has a sarcoma.

As a pet parent, seeing your furkid healthy and happy adds joy to your everyday life. But as they are aging, keeping them in good shape can be stressful. Daisy’s supermom, Tassi, makes sure no one gets left behind. She puts all her effort into supporting her precious furkiddos.

So, What Is A Sarcoma?

The type of sarcoma is usually not as important as the tumor’s evaluative grade, which shows how rapidly the tumor is developing and how likely it will spread.

A sarcoma is a cancerous tumor formed in connective tissue, bone, cartilage, or certain muscle types in dogs or cats. There are different types of sarcomas, but they all act similarly. Hence, the type of sarcoma is usually not as important as the tumor’s evaluative grade. In a dog with sarcoma, the grade shows how rapidly the tumor is developing and how likely it will spread to other parts of the body.

Sarcoma’s Cause and Symptoms

There is no straightforward reason for a pet to have any tumors or cancers. It is commonly because of environmental or genetic factors. Very few tumors and cancers have a single known cause.

The tumor or sarcoma may appear as a firm lump under deep layers of skin. Pet parents can sometimes notice them, but often the veterinarian is the one who finds them during a routine exam. These lumps are generally non-uncomfortable and have normal skin overlaying them, so it’s essential to have a health exam for your furkiddo frequently. Talk to our pet experts for help understanding your pet’s health and natural ways to support them.

Daisy’s Sarcoma

About a year ago, Daisy’s mom found a dark growth on her front left leg and immediately had a bad feeling about it. They visited the vet and had the growth tested. Just as they feared, it was cancer, a soft tissue sarcoma. Daisy almost had to go through surgery to remove the tumor, however, due to Daisy’s age and other health conditions, they decided to not go through another surgery and help her live comfortably.

Daisy had already been taking NHV Turmeric so Daisy’s mama, Tassi increased Daisy’s dosage. After about three months, she gave us this update:

“My dog is cancer-prone. Your Turmeric has helped her so much with 4 diagnoses. Quality products. Caring staff. Knowledgeable vets. You are a company who stands behind what you provide, and I recommend you to everyone I know. Thank you.”

Tassi also told us that since first discovering the growth, it has reduced to about one-fourth the size! Way to go, furmama Tassi! Daisy is so blessed to have a supermom like you.

Here is a picture of Daisy May with her plushy cuddle and a boopable nose! Daisy can make up for any cancer and health issues she is facing with a big personality. She is a ray of sunshine that will never shy away from slumber parties and bedtime cookies!

She definitely has a zest for life!

Daisy’s Other Health Conditions

Daisy also has many other health conditions she is facing besides the sarcoma. She combats GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), an infected cyst, and other renal infections. In addition, she also has diabetes, vitamin b12 deficiency, pancreatitis, and pulmonary hypertension that caused the right-side heart to enlarge. Daisy was diagnosed with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia which is a cardiovascular condition where the immune system attacks platelets in the blood, which puts the pet at high risk of bleeding.

Had I known about you guys then, I would have started her on Turmeric earlier

This is not Daisy’s first time battling cancer either. Years ago daisy had a tumor on her front right leg which was when she started taking Turmeric. They were able to fully remove the tumor and Daisy’s mom and the vet both felt that Turmeric was helpful for supporting her during this cancer scare. Later, Daisy was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Daisy started taking Turmeric again right away. Before starting treatment for the mass, the vet wanted to run tests on the mass again. To their shock, they couldn’t find the mass! It was gone!

Turmeric is especially beneficial for sarcoma since this herb is highly beneficial for all vital organs and has anti-cancer properties. Curcumin, a substance in turmeric, helps with reducing discomfort and inflammation and contains antioxidants.

Daisy’s mama, Tassi swears by NHV Turmeric but here are some other supplements that can be helpful for pets like Daisy:

Tripsy is formulated to help balance kidney and urinary tract function. It also aids the bladder to flush out the toxins from the body.

Mellit can be helpful for controlling blood sugar levels for pancreatitis as well as diabetes. It aids in strengthening and protecting organs from severe imbalances that may trigger throughout the body. You can also find Mellit in this money-saving pack Diabetes Super Support Gold, which contains Milk Thistle and Yucca.

For vitamin b12 deficiency, we recommended Multi Essentials to help fill nutritional gaps and with herbs rich in vitamins and minerals. It is an entirely natural, plant-based liquid blend that can help your dog with deficiencies.

Natures Immuno, our mushroom blend, can help support the heart’s strength and ease pulmonary hypertension. It is also beneficial for supporting a healthy immune system.

Our supplements are safe to use together and along with other conventional treatments. However, we recommend that you space the NHV supplements from medications and other brands of supplements by 2 hours. That way, your pet’s body can absorb the nutritional benefits from the herbs effectively.
