If your dog has elevated liver enzymes, consider joining our study. Your participation could help advance scientific understanding of natural pet supplements and contribute to better-informed wellness support for pets in the future.

What Is NHV Milk Thistle?
NHV Milk Thistle is a natural supplement for pets made with a full-spectrum extract of organic milk thistle seed. It helps support healthy liver function, assists the liver’s natural detoxification processes, and helps support the healthy maintenance of normal liver enzyme levels. Who Can Participate?
Applications are open for participants in the US or Canada.
Please reach out to us by email (provided in the How to Join section below) if your dog meets the following criteria:
- Has recent bloodwork showing elevated liver enzymes (within the last 30 days)
- Is currently under the care of a licensed veterinarian
- Can receive NHV Milk Thistle for 30 days as instructed
- Be able to complete follow-up bloodwork at the end of the 30-day study period. NHV may be able to cover the cost of liver enzyme testing by working directly with your licensed veterinary clinic

What Does Participation Involve?
Participating in the NHV Milk Thistle Clinical Study is simple and can be completed entirely from the comfort of home, with no travel required other than your dog’s blood test at the end of the study.
To get started, participants sign up using the sign-up form. You will then receive an email asking you to provide your fur kid’s initial medical records and bloodwork showing elevated liver enzyme values, along with a short questionnaire and consent form.
Our Research Team will review the information and confirm whether your pet is eligible to participate. If your pet is not eligible, we will let you know by email. Please note that only confirmed study participants will be eligible to receive free NHV Milk Thistle, a $100 NHV store credit, and potential coverage for follow-up liver enzyme testing arranged directly with their licensed veterinary clinic.
Over the next 30 days, you will administer NHV Milk Thistle as directed while keeping our study team updated on any changes in your pet’s health or medications. Finally, you will complete follow-up bloodwork and a brief final questionnaire after the 30-day period so our research team can evaluate the results.
How will NHV Support You During the Study?
NHV will provide approved participants with:

Pet's Weight Dosage
To be taken twice daily. All NHV supplements are designed to be used together, and can, therefore, be given at once for convenience.

0 - 15 lb = 0.5 ml
16 - 30 lb = 1.0 ml
31 - 45 lb = 1.5 ml
46 - 60 lb = 2.0 ml
61 - 75 lb = 2.5 ml
Over 75 lb = 3.0 ml
How to Administer
Shake well before use. The easiest method is to use the dropper provide and places the drops into your pet’s food or favorite treat. You can also use the dropper and squirt directly into the pet’s mouth.Some pets can be finicky, if this occurs consider hiding the drops in foods most pet’s love such as fish, chicken or yogurt or a favourite treat. If your pet only eats dry food then soak a few kibbles at feeding time.
