Easy Recipes For Pets 2 min read
chaya-and-pacino-eating-homemade-treat

For the stubborn and picky eaters (mostly cats) who turn their nose up at most fruits and veggies, we have a meaty frosty treat recipe! This vet formulated recipe is a great way to keep your furkiddo cool in the summers and it is really easy to make. It is a healthy snack that can be used as a treat or a great way to disguise fussy eaters’ daily NHV supplements.

Carrots are low in calories and an excellent source of Vitamin A and fiber which helps the digestion of your pet. Ground meat is a great way to add protein to the snack and give it a natural flavor that pets love.

Bone Broth is an excellent source of protein, is human grade, and tastes like homemade. Bone broth is a better option than regular broth or stocks, as they often contain high amounts of sodium and additional flavors which are not ideal for animals.

DIY Meat and Carrot Treats for Cats and Dogs 🍗🥕

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of shredded carrot
  • 1/2 cup of cooked ground meat
  • 1 cup of Bone Broth (Both chicken and beef work great. You could also get a plain bone broth with no seasonings or make your own)
  • NHV Supplement (NHV Matricalm is a great option for keeping your pet calm during busy summer events) – The dosage is calculated by your pet’s weight

Steps

  1. Thoroughly cook ground meat of choice
  2. Finely grate carrot
  3. Add cooked ground meat, shredded carrot, and bone broth into a blender
  4. Blend until smooth
  5. Pour the mixture into an ice cube tray
  6. Freeze for 60 minutes for softer snacks, and 90 minutes for solid cubes
  7. Remove from the ice cube tray, and serve in a pet-safe dish
  8. Drizzle regular dosage of favorite NHV supplement on top
  9. Serve to your furkiddo and watch them enjoy!

Although healthy, this recipe is meant to be used as an occasional snack and does not replace regular meals.

We’d love to hear how your pet liked the treat! Please let us know your pet’s reactions or the ways you made this recipe your own. Tag #NHVpets in pictures on social media of you and your furkiddo making it together or enjoying it.

Happy snacking!
