“Tobi is thriving on NHV” – One Kitty’s FIV Success Story

Inspiring Pet Tails 4 min read

Tobi the cat is a gray-colored sweetie pie with a dedicated following on his Instagram, along with his other fur siblings. But Tobi’s a little different than the others. As a kitty with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), Tobi’s fur mom was worried about what kind of life he’d have; he was already struggling with dental issues and high protein in the blood. But through dedication, love, and natural care, Tobi became an FIV success story for all the FIV-positive kitties out there!

How FIV Affects Tobi

When Tobi’s fur mom found him last winter, they immediately fell in love with this gorgeous gray boy. It was an instant connection, and they knew he was meant to be a part of their family.

But when Tobi was diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), it really terrified them. Many pet parents worry that there’s nothing that can be done for FIV cats (more on that later).

Part of the scare comes from the fact that FIV in cats can affect their immune health in the long term. The virus targets the white blood cells of a kitty, which can weaken the immune system and reduce the body’s ability to fight infections.

It’s a difficult condition for any fur kid. It affects many parts of the body. Cats with FIV can experience eye problems due to infections, low energy, digestive issues, weight loss, and poor fur quality. Other symptoms of FIV can include dental issues in cats due to severe inflammation in the gums.

Sadly, Tobi was already beginning to experience troubles with his eyes and teeth, and he was coughing and sneezing a lot.

Kitties with FIV can be supported

But while FIV is serious, this furmily has since come to learn that these kitties with FIV can be supported, and that they can lead just as good a life full of all the things that cats love, like cuddles, treats, and time with family.

Born from her desire to do everything in her power to support Tobi, Tobi’s fur mom began researching natural supplements for FIV-positive cats and came across NHV.

Tobi’s Supplement Routine

Tobi began two daily supplements to support his immune system wellness and other FIV symptoms. She chose two targeted supplements for immune system balance and FIV support: NHV Felimm and NHV Natures Immuno.

NHV Felimm, like all NHV supplements, was formulated by a master herbalist and holistic veterinarian using only 100% natural ingredients. This formula was made with viral infections like FIV in mind. It may help to encourage balance for your cat’s natural defenses and ease FIV symptoms. Packed with long-trusted herbs like St. John’s Wort and Aloe Vera, it may help stimulate appetite, balance energy levels, and encourage their natural detoxification processes.

NHV Natures Immuno is our super mushroom blend for immune support. Of particular interest to pet parents seeking natural support for FIV in cats, mushrooms like Turkey Tail may offer inflammation support, while Reishi may offer support for the immune and cardiovascular systems.

After Tobi began his natural NHV supplement regimen, his furmily saw some pretty encouraging changes:

The biggest thing I’ve noticed is an improvement in his respiratory symptoms! He used to be a frequent sneezer and cougher and those symptoms have become a lot more rare for him!

That’s so awesome! We are totally proud of Tobi. Even his eyes started to clear up:

I’ve also noticed an improvement in his eyes, he used to have frequent discharge and his third eyelid would be slightly visible and both of those concerns have completely disappeared!

Tobi is a champ at taking his NHV supplements, too. His fur mom adds them to his food, and he doesn’t even notice, gobbling up his meals happily, blissfully unaware that he’s getting herbal support! Our liquid formulas make mixing them into food a breeze, which is especially useful for pickier pets.

Tobi’s Treats!

All cats deserve to enjoy the good things in life. And for a cat, treats are definitely a major part of what makes life exciting. One of Tobi’s faves? NHV Wild Pacific Salmon Crunch!

These treats are made from wild-caught salmon that has never been exposed to artificial hormones, artificial feed, or growth hormones. In fact, salmon is the only ingredient! We gently dehydrate them to concentrate flavor and keep them fresh for your kitty. That way, your kitty doesn’t have to deal with any artificial ingredients if they already have a chronic health condition.

Salmon is a natural source of omega-3s, too. Omega-3s are great for supporting the eyes, skin, and coat – which may be particularly helpful for cats with FIV.

It’s not just that cats like Tobi love the taste of these salmon jerky bites; every bite of Wild Pacific Salmon Crunch adds a little top-up of beneficial nutrients that pet parents will love, too.

Get Support for Your FIV+ Kitty

Tobi feels better with his natural supports (and the natural treats don’t hurt, either).

It’s been two years and he still makes daily progress, both in his health and in his comfort in our home. We’re so happy NHV is part of his routine!

Whether you’re dealing with FIV, eye troubles, or oral health problems in cats, natural support can make a great addition to their care routine alongside your vet’s recommendations.

If you’re curious about adding natural supplements to support your fur kiddo, we have a few options to help:

We love pets, and we’re excited to help them live their best furry lives, just like Tobi. We can’t wait to get to know your fur family and help them feel better, too!
