Nikko the cat is pretty special to fur parent Sho. That’s why it was so distressing when Nikko started showing strange symptoms which led to a worrying diagnosis: toxoplasmosis in cats.
A Scary Diagnosis: Toxoplasmosis in Cats
Sho loves Nikko dearly – a true soul pet! – and would go to any lengths to help her.
However, when Nikko suddenly began experiencing severe brain seizures, life became much harder for this little cat. Seizures are difficult to see happen in your fur kiddos, and much more difficult to experience as one.
Sho took Nikko to a neurologist, where they diagnosed her with a severe case of toxoplasmosis.

Toxoplasmosis is a type of parasite often found in raw meat and even in garden soil. Cats can contract the parasite when they hunt or eat raw food diets. While some cats have a natural immunity to it, poor Nikko got a pretty severe case that ended up infecting her brain.
The diagnosis helped to explain those terrible seizures, but it wasn’t good news; this condition could be fatal. And sadly, even though they began a course of antibiotics, they didn’t see much progress.
Pained by seeing little Nikko struggle, Sho decided to take matters into her own hands.
The Journey to Help Nikko
Holding on to hope that there was still help out there for Nikko, Sho researched additional ways to help this sweet cat. Sho’s research through scientific journals highlighted several herbs that may help in their time of need. It was then that Sho came across NHV.

Alongside some additional herbs, Sho began an NHV regimen of Natures Immuno, Milk Thistle, and PetOmega-3. These supplements may respectively help balance the immune system, support the liver, and combat inflammation. It was a bit bitter for little Nikko (cats are notoriously picky), so Sho lovingly administered her supplements by mouth.
At the 1 month mark after starting herbal supplements, Sho’s progress was remarkable: she stopped having seizures! Sho’s research and diligence paid off! Her little one was no longer suffering.
Even better, a retest for toxoplasmosis 1.5 years after the initial diagnosis confirmed that Nikko remains free of the parasite. Sho and Nikko won their battle!
This experience has significantly deepened my understanding of herbal treatments, and I am so grateful for the wealth of knowledge shared through your blogs, research, and references to scientific journals. It’s fantastic work, and I truly hope more pet parents can discover how effective and transformative herbal treatments can be for both pets and humans. Thank you for all that you do—please keep it up!
We’re Always Here for Your Pet
Sho is a superhero for helping Nikko through this tough time, but we’re grateful to have been the sidekicks. Being there for pet parents through a tough time is what we love to do.
That’s why when Sho came back to us sharing that Nikko began showing signs of arthritis and was diagnosed with IBD, we were glad to share our recommendations once again.
After beginning a new regimen of Old Timer, Turmeric, and Yucca for arthritis symptoms, and Tumflora, Multi Essentials, Milk Thistle, and PetOmega 3 for digestive wellness and inflammation support, Nikko saw remarkable improvements once again. Within two months, her vitality, mobility, digestion, weight gain, and fur appearance all improved!

This is the second time we’ve turned to NHV for Nikko’s health challenges, and once again, the results have been outstanding. NHV has truly made a difference in Nikko’s quality of life!
The path to wellness isn’t always linear. Like for Sho, sometimes new challenges appear. But with the right support, and a team of people who want to fight for your fur kiddo just as hard as you do, we can always support our pets.
