For Coughs, Respiratory Disorders, and Bronchial Infections in Cats
Feline Asthma is a chronic progressive disease that is fairly common in adult cats. Brachycephalic cat breeds like Persian cats, British short hairs, and Burmese cats are more vulnerable to this allergic respiratory disease. Wheezing, labored breathing, and coughing are common signs of asthma in cats.
Turmeric would eventually help reduce inflammation and it is great for cardiovascular health.
Though there is no cure for asthma, a traditional vet will prescribe steroids to give to your cat orally or an asthmatic inhaler to help your cat breathe more comfortably and suppress the symptoms of feline asthma. An integrative approach, however, uses the medicinal power of herbs to help ease cough and irritation of the mucous membrane, while controlling bacterial infection and stimulating the immune system. NHV Resp Aid is one such blend. Sixx the cat was able to find relief from a 2 week long period of continuous asthma attacks with this remedial and gentle herbal formula.
Sixx was coping with breathing issues when her mom Jenna started helping her with NHV Turmeric. Turmeric would eventually help reduce inflammation and it is great for cardiovascular health. 2 days later Sixx was diagnosed with asthma and the vet had to prescribe corticosteroids. That’s when NHV Pet Experts recommended adding Resp Aid to Sixx’s regimen. About 3 weeks later, we got a happy update.
Our 2-year-old Cat Sixx started coughing and having Asthma attacks about 10 times a day for 2 weeks. We started her on this [NHV Resp Aid] along with just 4 days of a steroid and it was gone! I give it to her as a preventive daily and thank god it’s been 3 weeks and no attacks! Will buy again and I always go the natural route! Thanks for such an amazing natural product! Do your cat a favor and try this.
Amazing products that are natural and really work! The Resp-aid has kept my cat Sixx off of steroids for her Asthma! I also use Turmeric for inflammation. Do yourself a favor and if you need anything to help your animals go the holistic route try this company! Made from real vets! <3 Love their products.
Since asthma is a chronic condition, NHV Resp Aid is formulated to work safely for long term and that’s what we recommended for Sixx. For severe situations, especially around allergy season, we recommend adding NHV Stimmune to the regimen. The two come together in a money-saving Asthma Kit for Respiratory Relief in pets.
We are thankful to cat mom Jenna for sharing this update with us. If you have a cat who experiences asthma like symptoms but hasn’t been diagnosed with feline asthma, you can still consider administering NHV Resp Aid. It helps preventatively too!

Asthma in cats and dogs is a respiratory condition resulting from an allergic reaction. It happens when your furkid inhales an allergen, which causes the airways of their lungs to inflame and narrow. Consequently, it becomes more difficult for our furriends to breathe.
Asthma in cats will affect around 1-5% of our kitty friends. Even though asthma in dogs is more uncommon, our pups can also suffer from asthma attacks. Small and middle-aged dogs are usually at the highest risk for this condition.
Besides difficulty breathing, this recurring inflammation also results in various other symptoms:
If you notice these asthma signs, your little one is likely to have asthma. Please visit a vet immediately for a full body examination and a correct diagnosis. An earlier diagnosis can help your furkid get the right treatment sooner.
On top of the traditional cat and dog asthma medicine, NHV herb-based supplements like the ones in our Asthma Kit For Respiratory Relief can also assist your furkiddo on their road to recovery.
Resp-Aid™ is a vet-formulated extract designed to help furkiddos with respiratory issues. The unique blend of herbs helps support the symptoms of asthma. For example, herbs like Coltsfoot help keep coughs under control. Lobelia and Horehound may also help relieve spasms and reduce mucus accumulation.
In addition, this supplement helps soothe irritating tissues in furkids’ lungs and has powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
Since asthma is usually caused by furkids breathing in allergens, we also added our primary support for allergy, Stimmune, to the kit. This formula of herbal extracts can help balance your little one’s immune system, regulating their body’s reaction to external allergens.
On top of that, Echinacea Purpurea and Myrrh can help relieve irritation and inflammation. The supplement may also help increase the energy of your little one.
NHV supplements are all 100% natural and herb-based, including the ones in this kit. A holistic veterinarian and master herbalist with a combined 50+ years of experience formulating every extract.

I am happy to update that our little girl Sixx is on her 3rd bottle of Resp-aid and only has had 3 minor asthma attacks. We raised her .05ml twice a day to .75ml twice a day and it’s been maybe once small attack a month. This stuff works! No steroid at all.
We decided to add Turmeric to her regime as a preventive of inflammation and also for her inflamed gums she was born with gum issues. We are starting our 2nd bottle of Turmeric and seeing her gum redness down a lot.
Thank you for such great natural products!
What some new customers have to realize is if your cat was having a lot of bad attacks like our cat was (10 a day) that they may need a quick small dose of steroids to knock it back and then continue the NHV products and dump the steroid and see how they handle it.
The goal is to not have to put your cat on the steroid for the rest of their lives. If our cat went from having 10 plus a day to 1 a month, yours can too!
These products work!
Hi Jennifer.
Thank you for sharing the update with us and helping other pet parents understand how to go about establishing a holistic balance for their pets. Sixx’ dosage can easily be increased to 1 ml twice a day, if need be. Do keep us updated. Sending Sixx all our love.
Yours in wellness,
Team NHV
I also suspect that my cat has asthma. Thanks for sharing your post.
Hi Aimee,
We’re so sorry your kitty is having respiratory troubles 🙁 It’s always very important to obtain a firm diagnosis from your vet when your kitty is experiencing these types of troubles, as the symptoms can also indicate other problems as well. Resp-Aid is not only beneficial for asthma, but it also helps with any type of respiratory condition. So, staring on Resp-Aid in the mean time, before a final diagnosis, would be a great start! Our asthma kit also comes with Stimmune, which is great for asthma, but again it is also beneficial for many other conditions. We hope we can help your kitty to feel better! <3
