Scooby and FIP in Cats

Inspiring Pet Tails 3 min read

They say a cat has nine lives. But when a diagnosis like FIP enters the picture, it can feel like you’re fighting for just one. For 11-month-old Maine Coon kitten Scooby, the fight against FIP shook his family’s world.

From getting the devastating news to new treatments, this kitty has been through quite a lot. However, with vet care, supplements, and a whole lot of love, he was able to feel like a kitty once again.

A Very Special Kitty – And A Serious Disease

Maine Coons are known as the gentle giants of the cat world. These big lovable fur kiddos have floofy majestic fur, adorably tufted ears, and big old paws that love to play. Maine Coons are popular for a reason, as they are famous for being social, playful, and deeply loyal.

When Scooby joined his family in Malaysia, he was everything a Maine Coon kitten should be – a true member of the family who loved his people. They loved him back dearly, so when he began to grow sick, it was incredibly difficult to see.

The diagnosis was Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) disease, something no pet parent wants to hear. A mutation of the coronavirus, FIP is very serious and can even be fatal. The symptoms include fever, lethargy, low appetite, weight loss, breathing difficulties, and neurological issues.

Up until recently, there was no cure for FIP, until thankfully, a new veterinary treatment gained popularity. This treatment has saved many kitties’ lives. However, it can be quite harsh on the system, which is why Scooby’s furmily wanted to support Scooby naturally.

How Veterinarian Treatments and Holistic Supplements Work Together

The vet treatment for FIP takes months to administer. Scooby’s family discovered NHV and decided to add supplements to support his treatments alongside his vet care.

We suggested NHV Felimm, BK-Detox, and Milk Thistle. They share:

Scooby has finished his treatment and is also nearly finishing his 84days of observations. I put him on Felimm and BK Detox and Milk Thistle supplements during his observation days. His blood work readings are good and he has gained a healthy amount of weight (from 3.3kg to 6.2kg), like a proper Maine Coon kitten that is growing up.

That’s amazing – just like every kitten deserves, Scooby’s family really stepped up to support him by combining vet treatment and holistic support!

NHV Felimm is our go-to for all things viral infections. For FIP in cats, it may offer several benefits like encouraging the appetite, balancing the immune response, and supporting the body’s detoxification systems.

BK-Detox may also support the body as it works to purify the blood and internal system, with herbal ingredients like Red Clover, Neem, and Prickly Ash.

Finally, NHV Milk Thistle supports the liver, one of the most important detoxifying organs. It contains a full-spectrum extract of organic milk thistle seed.

Each of these supplements may aid cats undergoing treatment for FIP by supporting the body against the effects of both the disease itself and the treatment.

A Long Life Ahead of Him

Scooby is now feeling much more like the playful kitten he should thanks to the love and support of his fur-parents. They share the difference that holistic supplements have made in his wellness plan:

Scooby will take his NHV supplements without any fuss, and I am convinced that the supplements have helped tremendously in his recovery. I plan to continue him on Felimm and Milk Thistle forever. I wrote you for advice and was really happy with your prompt, emphatic and solid advice
