We’re really excited to show you a little look behind the scenes at how NHV supplements are made. You may be familiar with how they help, but before our remedies make it to all the fur kids all over the world, there’s a lot that goes into the process, from researching our formulas to using our proprietary extraction process for efficacy, to ensuring quality and safety and more.
How It's Made - NHV Natural Remedies For Pets
After sourcing our herbs from trusted suppliers in North America, Europe and India, the herbs are put in a vat and extracted over a period of days, sometimes weeks. Once the extraction process is completed, the liquid is strained, and the leftover sludge is composted.
Herbs are amazing. They’re packed with nutritional value and can have medicinal properties like antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action. They can even act specifically on an organ like the liver to help regenerate it (think Milk Thistle). But, in order to receive these amazing herbal benefits, putting a bit of a herb into a tea and drinking it simply doesn’t cut it.

When developing formulations, it’s important to have an in-depth understanding of every medicinal property a herb may have. Some herbs list dozens of potential medicinal properties, which come into effect only when they are extracted a certain way, used in certain quantities, or when used together with another herb synergistically. NHV formulations were developed by a holistic vet and a master herbalist, with advanced knowledge on the medicinal properties of herbs, their unique bioactive compounds, and extensive experience in the extraction and isolation of natural compounds.
NHV also uses a proprietary extraction process to ensure the herbs retain their biochemical and phytoceutical properties. Our GMP-certified facility ensures that all our herbs have certificates of analysis, and each batch is tested by our dedicated quality assurance technician before being tested again by a third-party lab to make sure that what all fur babies get is safe and effective.
And now we move to bottle. We use amber glass medical bottles. These bottles help keep the integrity of the herbs since light does not penetrate in. You may notice that your NHV supplement comes with a dropper, but the dropper is separate, and not in the actual bottle. The reason we do this is that when the herbs are being extracted, we don’t use any preservatives or additives. They’re sealed at a specific temperature, and in order to maintain their integrity and have a long shelf life without any preservatives or additives, we heat seal the supplement without the dropper.
We then move into labeling and packaging, and then it’s off to you and your fur kids with lots of love.
