It’s not the most pleasant topic, we know, but Inflammatory or Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) is a common gastrointestinal issue in dogs and cats. It can be uncomfortable for your furkiddo, and really stressful to manage if you’re not sure how to help your little one. Want to learn more? Keep reading to find out more about the ways you can naturally support your little one with IBD.

What Is IBD?

IBD can happen to any pup or kitty for a variety of reasons. Some of those reasons being food allergies, parasites, or even autoimmune conditions. IBD happens when the inflammatory cells in a pet’s body begin to affect the gastrointestinal tract (GI).

What To Look Out For

Some symptoms of IBD can include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Constipation
  • Lethargy
  • Blood in stools

The Four Adorable Dorky Yorkies Furmily

Lauren is the amazing furmom of her adorable furkids Sony, Graham, Stella, Tucker, and Louie (the Chi!). She does such a great job at taking care of her little ones and all their different health conditions. We’re so proud of her for all she’s done for her sweethearts! Out of the five pups, Sony and Graham both deal with IBD and stress gut, with Sony’s tummy troubles coming from a history of autoimmune and digestive issues.

Supporting IBD Naturally

Lauren has been able to manage Sony’s symptoms with a specialized diet for IBD which includes raw foods, goat’s milk, bone broth, and probiotics.

Sony and Graham also take the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD/IBS) Comfort Kit which contains Inulin-PK and Plantaeris. When used together these powerful supplements can help to relieve uncomfortable gastrointestinal symptoms, help maintain normal bowel function, and support gastrointestinal tract healing.

Our newest supplement, TumFlora, is our main support for IBD and overall gastrointestinal health. It can also help to improve natural intestinal flora while helping to reduce discomfort.

We also recommend Yucca for pups and kitties dealing with IBD because it can help to promote normal digestion, inhibit inflammation, stimulate appetite, and relieve discomfort.

Maris can also be a great addition to your furkiddo’s IBD regimen if they experience constipation. Maris can help to encourage normal bowel movements while also supporting good colon and gastrointestinal health.

Check-in with Lauren and the Yorkies

We caught up with Lauren and her little ones recently and we were so happy to hear that Sony, Graham, and all the pups were doing so great!

Every time my pups have had stress gut or anything I give them the ibd kit and it always gets rid of it. Since feeding plantearis twice daily Sony and Graham don’t get stress gut anymore generally even in situations that would trigger it before. I am never without plantearis or inulin-pk.

Knowing that Lauren and her sweet angels are all doing well brings us so much joy, we couldn’t be happier for them. We’re wishing their adorable dorky furmily all the very best and we can’t wait for our next pupdate! Follow this family’s adventures on Instagram @4adorabledorkyyorkies!
