In early October this year, we announced that we would be helping to raise awareness for International Black Cats Awareness month and would be donating to a non-profit cat rescue! We absolutely love kitties of all shapes, sizes, and colors and we can’t wait to share an update on what’s been going on since then!
Why Black Cats Need Help
You’ve seen it in countless movies, TV shows, and especially around the Halloween season, black cats are unfortunately seen as bad luck and bad omens in Western society. Over the years, this bad reputation has made it so that these sweet and kind, little friends are one of the least adopted cats in shelters compared to cats of other colors. To support these little kitties, International Black Cats Awareness month was created in 2013 with the hopes of bringing this issue to light.
Donating To Kitten Rescue Los Angeles
In honor of these adorable kitties, we decided to donate $1,000 to Kitten Rescue Los Angeles. Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that saves unwanted and homeless cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles. Their amazing work and dedication have helped to rescue and rehome more than 21,000 kitties since they started in 1997!
We’re so happy to know that our donation will be supporting lots of kitties under Kitten Rescue’s great care. We’re sending their team lots of love and we hope that all those sweet furriends find a loving home very soon!
