Finding Out Your Cat Has A Tumor Or Feline Cancer Is Frightening!

Your beloved kitty has just been diagnosed with having a tumor or feline cancer, and you are feeling lost and confused. We at NHV Natural Pet Products understand and are here to support you and your fur baby during this time. We know that there will be an endless list of questions about tumors in cats, cat cancer, and cat health popping into your head, so we hope to be able to shed some light on these issues.

Let’s start with what tumors in cats are

As defined by the National Cancer Institute, a tumor is an abnormal mass of tissue that results when cells divide more than they should or do not die when they should and can also be called neoplasm.  There are two types of tumors: benign and malignant.

A benign tumor is a growth that is not cancerous, does not invade nearby tissue, and does not spread to other parts of the body. In most cases, the outlook for benign tumors is very good, sometimes not even requiring treatment.  So, what causes benign tumors?  Often the cause is unknown, but the growth of benign tumors in cats could be linked to anything from environmental toxins to diet, stress, trauma/injury, inflammation/infection, or even your pet’s genes.  How do you know if your kitty’s benign tumor needs treatment?  Your family vet will be able to assist you with making this decision.  If treatment is required, surgery is generally the most common solution by removing the entire tumor.  Your vet may also recommend other forms of treatment as they see fit.

A malignant tumor is a cancerous growth that can invade and destroy nearby tissue and spread to other parts of the body.  There are different types of cancers that can affect our beloved pets, and many can be quite aggressive, so early detection is key.  The specific causes of cancer in cats are unknown and could be related to many environmental factors; although, according to the Veterinary Cancer Society, there is mounting evidence that suggests that second-hand smoke increases the risk of lymphoma in cats and dogs as well as oral squamous cell carcinoma in cats.  What treatment options are available?  Your vet will be able to provide you with the best treatment options for specific cancer your pet has.  Treatment could be holistic, surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.

This is where we come in! NHV offers a range of herbal supplements to provide assistance to your cat in their battle with tumors and feline cancers.

Our Cancer Kit 4 contains a full range of natural, veterinarian formulated, herbal remedies for your cat or dog, designed to help manage the symptoms of cancer, boost immune function, improve energy, and help scavenge free radicals, and increase the quality of life.

Did you know that one of the most common cancers in cats is lymphoma?

Lymphoma is associated with the feline leukemia virus (FeLV), and even though there is a vaccine for feline leukemia now, many cats have been exposed to it, and exposure greatly increases a cat’s chance of developing feline lymphoma.

NHV Felimm is a natural vet formulated herbal support that helps fight Feline Leukemia virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus  (FIV) in cats. It is important to help your cat boost their immune system in order for the body to be able to defend against daily contact with environmental bacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa.

How Do I know these products work? Listen to our other Pet Parents!

“When my cat suddenly started making choking sounds and became weak, I was shocked to be informed that my 1-year-old British shorthair had a tumor between his nose and throat. The breeder I had purchased him from in Austria wanted me to treat him with natural products. I contacted NHV Natural Pet Products, who provided me with excellent, knowledgeable advice and service. The products I purchased were ES- Clear, Resp-Aid, and Stimmune. My cat responded very well, and he is now completely clear of any tumors. I very highly recommend the products and support of NHV. What symptoms of tumor or feline cancer in cats should I look out for?

Cats can be tricky, as they can hide disease well. While the below list of symptoms is not purely indicative of cancer, if your cat begins to exhibit them you should visit your veterinarian. As with us pet parents, the earlier cancer is caught the better.

  • Lumps and bumps
  • Abnormal odors from the mouth, ears, or any other part of your cat’s body
  • Abnormal discharge such as blood, pus, vomiting, diarrhea, or any other abnormal substance
  • Non-healing wounds
  • Sudden weight loss
  • Change in your cat’s appetite or lack of appetite
  • Coughing or abnormal breathing
  • Lethargy or depression
  • Change in your cat’s bathroom habits
  • Evidence of discomfort

As we love your pets as much as you do, we recommend feeding your cat an all-natural, organic food that will help support your cat’s body by providing the nutrition s/he needs.  Here is one of our favorite recipes to help support cats with tumor or feline cancer:
