“Defying the odds since he was 3;” Milk Thistle for Jaundice in Cats

Inspiring Pet Tails 3 min read

His family was not ready to give up

When this Persian was just three years old, his family was told to prepare for the worst – congestive heart failure, a growth in his abdomen, and harsh vet treatments. Even though their kitty was given a poor prognosis, his family was not ready to give up. They tried natural support, including NHV, and saw this kitty change before their eyes. Years later, when a new problem arose – jaundice in cats – they turned to NHV once again…

Learning About NHV for the First Time

This fur kiddo has a rough start in 2020. As his fur parent tells us, he was experiencing multiple problems at once:

In 2020-2021 he developed congestive heart failure and a pyloric mass. After about $10k in vet bills and pharma meds he was recovering slowly, but given 6 mos to a year to live…. I bought a couple of items to support his immune system (been so long don’t recall which, plus I tried a lot of other things.) The NHV, I believe helped him tremendously.

They used several NHV supplements as support for this kitty and were thrilled it supported him during tough times. But while things improved, this wouldn’t be the last time this kitty would get holistic support.

The Winding Journey to Wellness

As many fur families know, the path to wellness is not always a straight line. Sometimes, things can take a turn. In this little warrior’s case, the mass returned, and it was another doom and gloom visit at the vet office. He lost weight and wasn’t feeling like himself at all.

But as his furmily reminds us, taking action is better than focusing on the negative. So, when the mass returned, his family thought of NHV once again. This time, they were taking Milk Thistle because his vet saw issues with his liver and bile duct.

The doc had recommended a pill form of Milk Thistle. I got it, he was like, “Erm no.” So, I got the liquid from NHV and he has already shown improvement. He shows no visible signs of jaundice in his urine or eyes, ears, and mouth. He’s eating more and back to cuddling and playing. I hadn’t been able to hold him in almost a month. But that all changed once I got him off the harsh meds. When I felt his stomach it no longer feels like an organ is enlarged. I recommend using this for bile duct etc issues 100%.

NHV Milk Thistle has been trusted for years to support fur kids with all things liver and bile-related. The milk thistle plant is one of the herbs with no equivalent in pharmaceuticals – it is truly one of a kind straight from nature. It has been well-studied for its antioxidant, silymarin, which may encourage the healthy liver functioning.

As his pet parent notes, NHV Milk Thistle is in an easy-to-use liquid format, which makes giving it much easier than with pills. It was a perfect match, especially since he didn’t seem to be doing well with his vet treatments:

He’s eating more and back to cuddling and playing. I hadn’t been able to hold him in almost a month. But that all changed…

Five Years Later…

This picky Persian got the support he needed to feel like himself again – and was able to do his favorite things again: cuddling and playing! And while his story began with his vet thinking he 6 months left at just three years old, today, he is celebrating his 8th year. We could not be happier to hear that, and we are so proud that NHV could play supporting role!
