These Healthy Pitbulls Take Daily Supplements. Why, you ask?

Pet mom Ashleigh has two beautiful Pittie Mixes. Meet Talladega and Georgia Blu. Dega is a 43 lb Pittie/Corgi, and Georgia Blu is 52 lb Pittie Mix. Between all the zipping around and walkies in the forest, modeling for their mom’s art, and trying out tasty new snacks – these two wanted daily supplements to support their active lifestyles.

Luckily, neither pup has any underlying health conditions. (Pet mom Ashleigh says they passed their vet checkups with flying colors!) She was looking for supplements to help with overall health and vitality. There are some wonderful natural herbal supplements that can help improve the overall health and vitality of your cat or dog. These two cuties are taking two of the best daily supplements out there – NHV Turmeric and NHV Multi Essentials!

Why Multi Essentials for a healthy dog?

Some dogs receive a complete and balanced diet – including necessary vitamins and minerals – from commercial dog food. Keep in mind that not all pet foods are created equal. There is so much variety between each brand, so it is important to stay informed when choosing the right diet for your pooch.

Preparing fresh foods for your pup can be a great way to provide nutritious, healthy meals, but it is important to ensure they are properly formulated for your pooch.  Check with a veterinarian or nutritionist for help in determining the vitamin formulations. Our in-house veterinarian, Dr. Amanda, can help customize a nutrition meal plan for your pup!

For all the rest, NHV Multi Essentials can help fill those nutritional voids, and help with digestion, energy, and maintain a beautiful shiny coat, just like Georgia and Dega!

Why Turmeric for a healthy dog?

Turmeric is full of antioxidants and is often considered to be a superfood and one that can be safely used for cats and dogs. The active compound in turmeric is curcumin. Studies have shown turmeric to be an excellent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, anticoagulant, and antiseptic. It helps with liver function, bile production, and externally for wound healing.

This makes it beneficial for arthritic conditions, liver disorders, autoimmune diseases, heart and circulatory function, and as anti-cancer support. See the diagram below for some of the key benefits:

Their mom shares more about her lovely Pitbulls:

Dega is 4 years old, he was rescued by a close friend of ours on Christmas Eve 2014. He was found VERY thin, only 9months old, wandering along a thruway. He was a VERY skittish & aggressive dog that needed to be muzzled in public. His friend didn’t have the time needed to train Dega, so I decided to meet him & fell in love. Being as skittish & untrusting as he was, we vibed & he surprisingly took to us kindly.

After a year of vigorous training, lots of treats & patience on both ends, Dega is the perfect dog. His personality is larger than life, but now only his sister Georgia can bring out his little attitude, but only with little snarls that we call “smiles.” He would never, ever hurt her, nor ANYONE. He’s truly a ‘come-back kid’ & is a TOTALLY different dog than the day we got him. He’s truly a brilliant dog, easy to train, LOVES learning new tricks & now he genuinely enjoys photoshoots & responds to the phrase “Ready to do some work?”

He goes to the door & a-waits the next command. Dega is a medium-sized corgi-pitbull mix but has the personality of a 200lb Irish Wolfhound. His looks are deceiving, and his legs are much stumpier than they appear in pictures. The first time ANYONE has met him, the first thing they say is “he’s so short! I thought he was so much bigger!” 😂  He “catfishes” everyone! His favorite food is peanut butter, favorite hobby: hiking on trails & sniffing ALL the smells.

The supplements? I knew Turmeric was great for people, so we decided to give it to our dog! Dega loves the Tumeric so much we can just add it to his dry food! That, in combination with the multivitamin, seemed to work wonders on Dega’s body! There is a noticeable difference in energy levels; He usually is a pretty lazy dog, but I swear that these products made him sprier! He even enjoyed chasing his younger, faster, larger sister around the backyard! We will DEFINITELY be keeping this as a staple in his diet long term!
