If you follow us on Social Media, you’ve probably met some of our working dogs. As pet parents ourselves, we love the fact that we get to bring our furkiddos to work every day. It feels natural in this field to be surrounded by little ones. It’s unbelievable that in almost 15 years of working in the pet industry, this is my first time experiencing this.
There is several scientific research out there that proves that a pet-friendly office brings many mental benefits to both humans and pups. For me, it’s in the little things. It is lovely to hear the low whines of the working dogs begging for treats alongside phones ringing, keyboards clacking, and overlapping conversations. Even the noise of warning barks every time the mailman walks in is now part of my work routine.
Meet one of NHV’s Working Dogs: Caze
Caze was abandoned with his mom at the research center at a University in Brazil where I was doing my master’s in pet nutrition. At that time, I already had two big dogs and a cat in an apartment. So adding a furkiddo to the family was not in my plans. But I couldn’t leave them there.
The initial plan was to neuter them and find a forever home for both. But things changed after that. I fell in love with Caze and his mom, so I decided to keep them. Now, my 14-year-old pup has become an NHV working dog, and I couldn’t be happier.
For me, having Caze at the office means more quality time spent with him. I feel that he helps calm my nerves in moments of stress, and I have more reasons to smile just by looking at him sleeping beside me. He simply makes my day more enjoyable! And I think I can speak for the rest of the office when I say everyone gets something out of this adorable wobbly guy.

Caze has some mobility issues, so I don’t bring him to work every day. But when I do, it is a great opportunity for him to socialize and make strong connections with other dogs and humans. Not to mention he gets to appreciate a bunch of yummy healthy treats!
